People and the work they do.

I'm Kerim Hehli, a photographer from Switzerland. I photograph people, work and movement, with a documentary approach and a focus on black and white.

My interest is in the way things happen: a person concentrating on a task, the detail of a gesture, the pause between efforts. I work close to people and take time to understand the setting before making pictures.

My background in marketing, branding and visual storytelling informs how I approach a commission. I work with Leica; the focus remains on the people and the story in front of the camera.

Working together

I take on documentary commissions, portraits in working environments and photographic stories about people, craft and movement. Assignments can be focused on a single encounter or developed around a series of agreed visits.

We begin with the story, the intended audience and the access available. From there, we agree the scope, schedule, image selection and intended use. The result is a carefully edited set of photographs that works as a sequence.
